There is only one reference, post-ascension, in the New Testament of the driving out of demons by a Christian - it was through miraculous signs performed by Philip in Acts 8:7, which was performed mainly on and for the benefit of unbelievers.
Mark 16:9-20 and specifically in v17 Jesus refers to believers (post-ascension) driving out demons - but this text is NOT considered by most scholars to be authentic. - Earth bound
