The Children's Bread Church
A New Non-Denominational Church Startup
At The Children's Bread Ministries we are praying and asking our God - The Father, the Son Jesus and the Holy Spirit - to send us people of His choice to become a new body of Christ in the Asheville / Weaverville area of North Carolina.
Are you fully content with your fruitfulness as a Christian? A growing number of Christians are not. The Children's Bread Church is being established to address this growing need to fully abide in Christ with the result being spiritual fruitfulness and glory to God.
John 15:5 (ESV)
I [Jesus] am the vine; you are the branches. Whoever abides in me and I in him, he it is that bears much fruit, for apart from me you can do nothing.1 John 4:9b (ESV)
God sent his only Son into the world, so that we might live through him.
We are asking our God and Savior to bring together like minded brothers, sisters and families in Christ who have grown tired of “playing” church and are asking the questions, “Is this all there is to being a Christian?” and "Where is the fruit?" Christians who have a sincere desire to completely come away from worldliness and wholeheartedly surrender and submit to our God, trusting in Him fully, in order that we may love, worship and serve our God without reservation – loving God first and foremost with all our heart, mind, soul and strength - and in so doing bring glory to God. We choose to trust Jesus in His Word that by fully abiding in Christ we may in turn become the fruitful disciples of Christ Jesus whom He desires us to be. God’s end goal, after putting Him fully first in our lives, is for us to have a profound, sincere and selfless love for His people, both the saved and yet to be saved – loving our neighbors as ourselves.
A core priority and vision of this church is to be working to see that EVERY member obtains all the freedoms that are theirs in Christ Jesus. A church with a foundation and emphasis which focuses on seeing every member free from all spiritual bondages is a church that can become spiritually fruitful and the testimonies of freedom will quickly lead to more freedoms and greater fruitfulness.
Ours is a church which takes seriously the ministry and message of reconciliation, which has been given to us by God.
2 Corinthians 5:18-19 (NET)
18 And all these things are from God who reconciled us to himself through Christ, and who has given us the ministry of reconciliation. 19 In other words, in Christ God was reconciling the world to himself, not counting people’s trespasses against them, and he has given us the message of reconciliation.
This reconciliation includes Christians who haven’t completely been reconciled to God because of known and unknown sins which haven’t been confessed, renounced and repented of before their Heavenly Father. This is part of the very real and ongoing process of working out our salvation even after being born again.
Philippians 2:12-13 (NET)
12 So then, my dear friends, just as you have always obeyed, not only in my presence but even more in my absence, continue working out your salvation with awe and reverence, 13 for the one bringing forth in you both the desire and the effort - for the sake of his good pleasure - is God.
Full reconciliation with God requires the ongoing confession of all our known sins and repenting of these same sins. And because God is our loving Father He is willing, if we ask Him, to show us areas in our lives which we are clueless about but that need to come into the light and be cleansed leading to further reconciliation. Sin, including lies beleived, seperates us from God but reconciliation through confession and repentance brings us closer to God.
Hebrews 12:1-2 (NET)
1 Therefore, since we are surrounded by such a great cloud of witnesses, we must get rid of every weight and the sin that clings so closely, and run with endurance the race set out for us, 2 keeping our eyes fixed on Jesus, the pioneer and perfecter of our faith. For the joy set out for him he endured the cross, disregarding its shame, and has taken his seat at the right hand of the throne of God.1 John 1:9 (ESV)
If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just to forgive us our sins and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness.James 5:16 (NET)
So confess your sins to one another and pray for one another so that you may be healed. The prayer of a righteous person has great effectiveness.James 4:6-8 (NET)
6 But he gives greater grace. Therefore it says, “God opposes the proud, but he gives grace to the humble.” 7 So [humbly] submit to God. But resist the devil and he will flee from you. 8 Draw near to God and he will draw near to you. Cleanse your hands, you sinners, and make your hearts pure, you double-minded.
Most Christians have never done a thorough spiritual house cleaning. History tells us that most first century and early church Christian candidates where required to take the time to do a thorough spiritual house cleaning in order to leave behind the past at the very beginning of their walk with Christ. Please review our Statement of Faith and our Vision Statement to help you determine if the Lord might be calling you to be a part of this body of Christ.
Each prospective new member will be encouraged to participate in a one week Freedom in Christ Course followed by a spiritual house cleaning by allowing God to bring to light all that He desires to reveal to each new member regarding spiritual captivities and bondages which are preventing each individual Christian from having all the glorious freedom that God intends for each of us to have in Christ. This process, in the presence of our Heavenly Father, of confessing our sins ("I did it") and repenting (change of mind) of our sins and/or lies believed in a safe and caring setting is accomplished by working through The Steps to Freedom in Christ.
God in His great love and mercy desires that each of His children experience the glorious freedom available to them in Christ Jesus. His yoke is easy and His burden is light and the process of obtaining our freedom is without condemnation.
Romans 8:1-4 (NET)
1 There is therefore now no condemnation for those who are in Christ Jesus. 2 For the law of the life-giving Spirit in Christ Jesus has set you free from the law of sin and death. 3 For God achieved what the law could not do because it was weakened through the flesh. By sending his own Son in the likeness of sinful flesh and concerning sin, he condemned sin in the flesh, 4 so that the righteous requirement of the law may be fulfilled in us, who do not walk according to the flesh but according to the Spirit.James 4:10 (NET)
Humble yourselves before the Lord and he will exalt you.
The church will initially meet as a house church in one or more local area homes. We will have a Sunday service for worship and preaching and a Wednesday meeting of life groups with an initial emphasis on
