The Bread

Bread of Life

31 Our fathers ate the manna in the wilderness; as it is written, ‘He gave them bread from heaven to eat.’” 32 Jesus then said to them, “Truly, truly, I say to you, it was not Moses who gave you the bread from heaven, but my Father gives you the true bread from heaven. 33 For the bread of God is he who comes down from heaven and gives life to the world.” 34 They said to him, “Sir, give us this bread always.” 35 Jesus said to them, I am the bread of life; whoever comes to me shall not hunger, and whoever believes in me shall never thirst.  John 6:31-35 (ESV)

In Context

The answer to "what is the children's bread?" is related to what the Canaanite woman was asking for in Matthew 15:22-28.  She was asking, undoubtedly pleading, in her repeated cries to Jesus and his disciples, asking for Jesus to deliver her daughter from the SEVERE OPPRESSION of a demon.  This woman clearly knew who Jesus was and she demonstrated she had faith that he could perform the miracle she so desperately desired for her daughter and for herself because of having to deal with her daughter's condition. By this point in the Gospel of Matthew Jesus had already performed many deliverances and healings and word of his compassion and miraculous deeds had undoubtedly reached the surrounding peoples, including this persistent Canaanite woman.  She was a gentile, an outsider, and someone Jesus had NOT been sent by his Heavenly Father to minister to. So first Jesus ignored her and then to add insult to being ignored Jesus then makes the association that compares her to a dog which was an unclean animal in Jewish culture.  But her faith and her answer that came by that faith, that Jesus was her Lord and her master, resulted in the plea of her heart being answered. More importantly it obtained her a place in God's kingdom as one of God's children.  Jesus the "bread of life" granted one of his children, due to her faith, freedom and healing from demonic oppression - In Jesus' own words: "The Children's Bread".

What is "The Children's Bread"?

Freedom & Healing is The Children's Bread 550x380.jpg

This website is dedicated to helping Christians understand the spiritual issues surrounding being set free - both miraculous "quick (Matt 10:5-8)" freedom and "working out our salvation with fear and trembling (Phil 2:12)" along with "humbly submitting to God, resisting the devil and he will flee from you (James 4:6-7)" freedom and "this kind can only come out with prayer and fasting (Mark 9:29)" freedom.  Understanding is needed (Psalm 119:104, Prov 3:13-14) so that we can remain free from oppression once we receive the freedom our heavenly Father desires for us, His beloved children, to have. This site is also dedicated to helping fathers (Mal 4:5-6, Luke 1:17) and mothers to become spiritual parents to their children and to bring spiritual freedom to their children in the early years of their precious lives so that these little ones (1) have the greatest possibility to personally know and love and walk with their Lord and Savior, (2) are able to overcome the world, the flesh and the devil (Eph 2:1-3) and to (3) be fruitful servants of and faithful stewards for our Lord Jesus Christ to the glory of God.
