Pastor Jimmy Evans

Pastor Jimmy Evans (born October 8, 1954) is an American pastor, best-selling author, and Bible teacher known for founding XO Marriage (formerly MarriageToday), a global ministry dedicated to strengthening marriages and families based on biblical principles.  He served as the Senior Pastor of Trinity Fellowship Church in Amarillo, Texas, for thirty years, growing the congregation from 900 to over 10,000 members, and currently holds the title of Apostolic Elder there. 

Evans is also the Senior Apostolic Leader at Gateway Church in the Dallas/Fort Worth area, where he presides over a large multi-campus ministry, and serves as a supervisor at New Life Church in Colorado Springs.  Alongside his wife Karen Evans, whom he has been married to since 1974, he hosts the nationally syndicated television program MarriageToday with Jimmy & Karen and produces content for his Tipping Point ministry, which focuses on end-times prophecy and biblical current events.

  • Family: Evans and Karen have been married for over 50 years and have two married children, Brent Evans and Julie Evans Albracht, and five grandchildren. 

  • Education: He holds an Honorary Doctorate of Literature from The King’s University in Canada. 

  • Authorship: He has authored more than fifty books on marriage, family, and Christian living, including titles such as Marriage on the Rock, The Four Laws of Love, and Tipping Point. 

  • Current Focus: As of late 2024 and 2025, Evans transitioned out of his role at XO Marriage to focus full-time on his prophetic ministry, Tipping Point, citing strong demand for biblical prophecy content.
